Close, but not worth it Jul 26, 2011
By Chris This mp3 player seems like it might have had a chance, but there are a ton of little things that I don't like about it. If there were only a few of them, I might be able to put up with it, however there are better mp3 players out there for almost the same price.
Pros: It is inexpensive for the amount of memory it has, the sound is clear, the touch controls are responsive, the album art is displayed in music playback, you can drag and drop files, and it uses a standard mini USB cable.
Cons: The screen shows some color banding. The framerate is bad in video playback. Some things don't sync right (like the album art) unless you use the media manager that comes with it, which is very limited. I can't get any playlists to sync. The music fades in whenever a song starts or you hit play/pause, and you can't turn that off. Some songs display the filename instead of the title; I can't figure out why. The shuffle mode doesn't keep track of the songs that have played already, you just hit next or previous and it randomly chooses a song. Apparently Coby's technical support is pretty bad, which is never a good thing, but especially since this mp3 player isn't popular enough to have other sources of support.
Lousy indexing Jan 14, 2012
By Bert Good things: It's one of the few we found that exposes the file system so it looks like another windows drive. And it has a decent size display. And it's pretty much *just* an mp3 player, which I guess we're Luddites for wanting, but there you go. But the deal-killer, which we couldn't see until we had it in our hands, was the indexing: select an artist and you see every track individually. There appears to be no way to be shown the album or even (in the case of classical music) the grouping of tracks which is an actual work like a symphony.
too slow Jan 03, 2012
By frank yoo button reaction is too slow and the speaker is so bad and it's 14.5GB not 16GB. The design and sound is kind of okey but it looks a little bit cheap one.
