1Disappointed  Jun 12, 2007 By John Jay
Sorry, but this is not a good investment. Even at 40 bucks. Poorly designed and speakers are junk. Offer better speakers and adjust price downward, because fidelity is not good. Unit is just too big for what is does. In my view it has questionable electronics. Has a hum when nothing is coming out of it. May be a suspect power transformer...who knows?. It has an input for MP3, but no line out for perhaps better speakers. No headphone jack. Not very versatile. As far as I'm concerned, this is not a true microsystem. Has Limited capability. Pay the extra and get a SONY.

2Disposable stereo  Apr 10, 2008 By Tried and True "NTGILTY"
I bought two of these for teenager bedrooms. They worked for a very short time. The radios still work but the CD went jankity.

1CD player dead in less than 1 year  Nov 15, 2009 By AZKayla
Purchased this item at a local store, cheap price, so wasn't expecting anything exciting, just needed something for a small guest bedroom. Kind of lame that the speaker wires don't even have pins to plug into audio in/out on back of unit. Has just bare wire connections to speakers, and wires are quite short. However, the sound was acceptable for a cheap unit. But then, after 11 months, the cd player stopped working. Still under warranty, but Coby wants $12 to ship it to them. Not even worth the hassle for a $40 unit, plus labor warranty is only 90 days. Don't know if other similar inexpensive units die within 1 year, but I would say, skip this one and look elsewhere.

2Was good for two years  Sep 14, 2007 By Barbara Hickson
I bought this unit as a gift for my Mom because she moved into a tiny apartment. It worked and sounded great for such a small stereo.
It lasted for two years. The cd player will play a song then not have any sound or stop playing altogether. Radio works fine. You would think it would have lasted much longer.
Never had a cd player do that in such a short time. I won't buy the same brand again.

5Great Little Stereo  Feb 16, 2010 By D. Maloney "Pepaw"
My wife got me this stereo as a birthday gift. It's a the perfect stereo for my shop. How I can listen to music while working at my scroll saw. The sound quality is very good for a stereo of this type, the CDs are easy to load and the radio pulls in even weak stations. I like that I can also use my MP3 player with the unit. I'm sure I'll get many year of enjoyment out of it.
