5pleased  Apr 10, 2009 By R. Hurley
I bought this antenna to replace the original which was 3 years old. It is similar to the original and was needed because the wires are very small where they plug into the radio holder station. The same thing happened with the wire that plugs into the car socket for power. The wires just broke off. I now keep them straight because any twisting will cause this to happen again. It works well and I was glad they still make this product for older radios.

3Cheap cable.  Jan 04, 2009 By Ashes Gorey
I'm hoping there is something better on the market, so I'm trying out the Tram antenna which is supposed to have a tougher cable on it. The dot receives the signal fine, though I live in the mountains of New England so when the trees are in full foliage the signal cuts out a lot on some roads. I also find the signal cuts out if I go around some corners or past certain buildings. I don't fault the antenna for this, it's just part of living where I do.
The cables though... ugh. My first one died after going through a car wash. I live in an area where if you don't wash your car once a month it'll rot out from under you. The original antenna my sirius sportster came with didn't last one car wash. Fortunately, it was still under warranty. I bought it right before sirius stopped including the antenna in the original warranty and had bought an extended warranty. This covered my first few antennas. Now that I'm off that warranty, I'm not buying a sirius antenna for $40.
The second one lasted about two years, the third and forth just over a year each. On all of them the housing of the cable had become brittle and started flaking. As soon as I saw it on my last one, I tried electrical tape (no I didn't really think it would work, but since I hadn't completely lost my signal yet I figured I'd give it a shot). Well of course that didn't help, and my signal lasted two more days (off and on) and then died completely.
Tram makes a lot of stuff for truckers, so I'm betting their cables are made to withstand more elements than this one is.
Either way, I say if you can buy an extended warranty on your antenna, DO IT!
The tram antenna is half what a sirius antenna is, which in my book makes it a little more disposable.

3Sirius Antenna  Aug 28, 2009 By A. WESTPHAL "HBPunisher"
I received the wrong Antenna from this company, I called and they said I could change it out for the right one but decided to just keep the one they sent me, too much of a hassle and this one worked.

5Replacement Sirius Sportster Antenna  Jul 01, 2009 By L. Furman "lfurman"
When my Sirius Sporter display read "Acquiring Signal," that apparently meant the antenna went bad. Replacement was over $40 at Best Buy, but this worked perfectly, at half the price. Royal Mailers' free shipping got in to me in 2 business days.

This order was received in good time, and was exactly what we ordered. The price was right and we were able to buy two for what it would have cost in a retail store it you could find it in stock.
