Ok but could be MUCH better! Apr 20, 2010
By John K. Wilson First let me say I do not like Sony Ipods. My kids have them & they run your music library like a bunch of proprietary Nazis. And God help you if one of their friends connects theirs to your PC as it can ruin your whole collection. I've always used Creative Labs as they get good reviews for fidelity & are easy to use with your PC.
This is my first Zune. For starters, there is no eq tweaking allowed. No bass boost, no eq presets, nothing. Even my BlackBerry has various eq preset options (e.g. R&B, Pop, Rock, etc.) but my Microsoft MP3 player doesn't? What the #@$@! is up with that? Secondly, my PC does not see it as a hard driver (it's 120 gigs!) so I cannot do any cut/paste/drag/drop operations. The only way to add or delete files is with the Zune software. !#@~!$#, this is almost as bad as an ipod! You can't even delete files from it at all unless it's connected to your PC.
You can not search for an artist, song, nor album, other than by scrolling which is a real pain if you've got thousands of songs/albums/artists on it which is the whole point of getting one with a 120 gigs.
Fidelity is pretty good, apart from the fact that you can't cut/boost any of the frequency content to suit your tastes or earbuds.
Hopefully it will score high on realibilty as I've been thru 2 Creative Labs MP3 players in the course of about 4 years. Otherwise, I'll be going back to Creative whenever this one gives up the ghost.
